The Prayer of a Bible Teacher

Lord, I am not worthy to speak about You or Your Kingdom.

You are far too good to be represented by me, a sinful, weak minded, fool.  

Neither am I capable of speaking well or even effectively about You.

There is no way that I can give you the treatment that You deserve.

And yet you have chosen me and appointed to me this assignment.

 

So Lord, help me to remember that,

You are great and more than able to communicate through me.

You alone qualify me for this assignment.

And this is not a burden but rather an opportunity.

It is an opportunity to be used by You for an eternal purpose.

Where else can I have such an opportunity?

 

Please forgive my unbelief and help me to walk by faith as I step to the front of the room.

Forgive any pride or vain attempts at personal glory.

Remind me that this is not about me and my reputation but about You and Your glory.

Speak powerfully and effectively through me, in spite of me.

Lord, here I am. Have your way through me.
